What You’ll Do

As a CAE Analysis Engineer at Tesla, you will play a critical role in optimizing crash safety performance for our vehicles. Your work will directly influence the design of Tesla’s next-generation products, ensuring they meet and exceed global safety standards. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams across the globe, primarily supporting the APAC and EU regions, which means flexibility and adaptability to different time zones.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Constructing CAE models and running simulations to evaluate component-level and full-vehicle crash performance against regulatory and global standards.
  • Optimizing body, closure, battery, chassis, and other subsystems to enhance crashworthiness.
  • Collaborating with Test Engineering teams on subsystem and full-vehicle crash tests.
  • Performing detailed post-crash analyses and correlating CAE simulations with test results.
  • Applying your knowledge of Finite Element Analysis, Applied Solid Mechanics, and Material Science in a product development environment.
  • Contributing to methodology development to improve CAE modeling efficiency.

What You’ll Bring

We’re looking for engineers who are technically brilliant, innovative, and collaborative. Ideal candidates will have:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Master’s or PhD preferred).
  • At least 3 years of successful experience as a CAE engineer in the automotive sector.
  • Hands-on experience with at least one full-vehicle development as part of a core CAE team.
  • Strong theoretical knowledge of Finite Element Analysis.
  • Expert-level experience with LS-Dyna and Primer; pre- and post-processing experience in ANSA or Meta.
  • Experience with aluminum, steel, composite structures, and advanced joining methods for crashworthiness.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively on challenging engineering problems, providing innovative solutions.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including root cause analysis and correlation resolution.
  • Experience in iterative, collaborative engineering environments and high-level technical communication skills.
  • Basic Python scripting skills (a plus).
  • Proficiency in English.

Why Tesla?

At Tesla, innovation drives everything we do. As a CAE Analysis Engineer, you’ll not only contribute to world-class vehicle safety but also have the opportunity to work alongside some of the brightest minds in the automotive industry. Your expertise will directly impact how millions of people experience safety on the road.

If you’re ready to push the boundaries of automotive engineering and make a real difference in vehicle safety, Tesla wants to hear from you.
