About the Role
At Tesla, we are building a modern data engineering and analytics platform that helps teams make better, data-driven decisions. This platform will be used daily by Tesla employees to view reports, analyze large data sets, and gain business insights.
As a Senior Software Engineer, you will work on:
- Backend systems
- APIs and databases
- Data processing
- Interactive dashboards and visualizations
- AI-based (agentic) analytics workflows
Key Responsibilities
- Build and improve backend systems, APIs, and database components
- Develop tools for charts, dashboards, and drill-down analytics
- Work on large data processing and reporting features
- Understand Tesla’s business workflows and create self-service data tools
- Help build AI-powered analytics workflows
- Write unit tests and functional tests to ensure high-quality software
- Support automated testing and deployment processes
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in web development and databases
- Strong knowledge of Python and JavaScript
- Experience with microservices architecture and APIs
- Good understanding of authentication and authorization systems
- Hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and Jenkins
- Ability to write clean, efficient, and scalable code
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
Preferred (Good to Have) Skills
- Experience with data visualization libraries like D3.js or ECharts
- Experience with data workflow tools like Apache Airflow
- Knowledge of unit testing tools such as Jest or Jasmine
- Interest or experience in AI-based analytics solutions
