About the Role
As a Cloud Backend Developer, you will work on automating cloud platform installations on commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) servers. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to build, test, deploy, and maintain reliable cloud solutions. The role involves both development and support, with a strong focus on quality, automation, and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
1. Design & Development
- Design and develop solutions based on client requirements
- Validate and maintain cloud automation applications
- Work with container technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes
- Integrate software components into complete, functional systems
- Run simulations and testing to ensure reliability and performance
- Continuously improve applications by adding new features and optimizations
2. Cloud & Infrastructure Expertise
- Work with cloud platforms such as Red Hat OpenShift and Wind River Cloud Platform
- Manage and automate Bare Metal Controller (BMC) operations
- Handle server hardware from Dell, HP, SMC, and ZT
- Perform BMC firmware updates, configuration, and troubleshooting
- Use BMC interfaces like IPMI and Redfish
3. Testing, Support & Troubleshooting
- Use test automation tools such as Robot Framework
- Work with Ansible scripting for automation
- Fix defects and troubleshoot issues raised by clients or integration teams
- Debug, upgrade, and maintain existing systems with minimal downtime
- Deploy solutions and incorporate user feedback
4. Documentation & Reporting
- Prepare weekly and monthly status reports
- Maintain clear documentation for designs, changes, and recommendations
- Track work using timesheets
- Provide knowledge transfer and project history documentation
