About the Role
As a Security Engineer (Application Security), you will help make Flipkart’s web and mobile applications secure from the ground up. You will work closely with developers and product teams to identify risks early and ensure security is built into every stage of development.
Your role will focus on protecting applications, finding vulnerabilities, and guiding teams on how to fix them effectively.
What You’ll Be Responsible For
- Testing web, mobile (Android & iOS), and API applications for security issues
- Performing penetration testing and simulating real-world attacks
- Identifying and validating security vulnerabilities
- Creating proof-of-concepts to demonstrate risks
- Reviewing application code for security weaknesses
- Working closely with developers to explain issues and suggest fixes
- Helping solve complex security problems, including business logic issues
- Preparing clear and detailed security reports
Skills & Experience We’re Looking For
- 1 to 3 years of experience in application or cybersecurity roles
- Strong understanding of common application security risks
- Hands-on experience with security testing tools (like Burp Suite)
- Knowledge of web and mobile application security
- Basic development experience in Python, JavaScript, Java, Go, or PHP
- Familiarity with security testing, threat modeling, and vulnerability assessment
- Good communication skills and a positive, proactive attitude
